Covid-19 policies and procedures are in place to maintain the safety of both our guests and staff alike.
We have reduced the amount of tables in our restaurant to give plenty of space to abide the 1 metre distancing rule. Please be aware we are only taking bookings for parties of 6 guests or less. These groups must be limited to 1 household or of the same support bubble.
Please remember to bring a face mask as you will be required to wear one when you are not seated at a table.
Please also note the new curfew requires all guests to leave the building by 11pm. This means booking slots after 8.15pm will have a shortened turnover time.
If you develop covid-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has, please stay at home and follow government advise. We will happily re-arrange your booking.
And finally a note on these difficult times. Every booking that is a no-show risks the future of small independent restaurants, we urge you to phone, go on-line if you can no longer make your booking or need to makes changes to your party size. Please ensure you are on time for your booking as we cannot extend turnover times under any circumstance.
Lots of Love Jane and the Bbowl Team
On any foggy morning in Chiang Mai, the creeping scent of spices and sugar from street vendor stalls mingles with the approach of orange clad monks, chanting while they carry their alms pots.
The vessel – called a ‘begging bowl’ – is an important part of Thai culture hailing back to Buddhist traditions of making merit and the community spirit it inspires is fascinating to witness.
It is this ethos that we hope to embody in our own corner of South London.
To us, The Begging Bowl enshrines a sense of community, and of sharing, both with Peckham and the Thai friends and family which inspired our foundations.
